We can't have good faith on a flat social battery

There is a dimension of humans that technology does not seem to be able to fulfill. And it seems the more powerful the technology, the worse it gets (social media, zoom fatigue, etc). I have worked on distributed teams for more than 20 years now. I’ve collaborated on OSS projects with many people I’ve never met. I enjoy it. But, I’ve also realized that it takes more effort and many people are just not cut out for it. And we must operate in the mode that best fits the medium – remote collaboration works best primarily in an async manner. To run a distributed team the same way you do an all-local team is like trying to pound a square peg in a round hole.
