Here is a nice project
It has an arduino implementation as as well as Linux implementation which is currently built natively on raspbian, but I am sure we can easily port it to Yocto
as a single recipe. However, more interesting would be to see if there are common
grounds for simpleIOT to offer such management of watering systems. I guess we need a mobile App too.

We have little need for sprinklers here in OH, but irrigation for strawberries and raspberries would be nice.
yes I do its all dysfunctional due to some construction work but once done it will be operation again
