Interesting discussion with the creator of Zig. Unfortunately, there is not much technical information about Zig in this episode, but more of a meta discussion about OSS projects, history of software engineering, etc.
Zig claims to be a better C – can even build C/C++ code. This may be a another option for the next Gen MCU language (vs Rust).
