I’ve used Nvidia cards for a long time in my workstation simply. Their binary drivers have worked fine for the most part. Several times I looked at AMD cards, but even though they are OSS, it generally seemed like a lot more work to figure out, configure, and install the drivers. I’ve not had a system that provided built-in Intel graphics for a long while.
Perhaps one of the new AMD chips with built-in graphics would be interesting, however, looks like those are only available in the smaller chips (8-core) – I currently run a 12-core 3900X.
