Demonstration of how NATS.io provides real-time response when pushing data to IoT devices

This video demonstrates how the Simple IoT project uses NATS.io to efficiently push data to IoT edge devices. The phone on the left is connected to the Simple IoT portal running in the cloud. The device on the right is an example IoT edge device connected via a low bandwidth Cat-M modem to the cloud. In this example we are remotely changing the tank level at the device. Notice near real-time response. We typically see less than 1s latency.

NATS.io provides an efficient way to maintain a persistent connection and push data to devices over a secure tunnel. No need for public IP address on the device, VPNs, slow polling mechanisms, etc. It is simple and it works!

Lots of interesting stuff happening there.
